Jinen butoh in Paris

Just back from Paris after taking Atsushi Takenouchi's 10 day intensive Butoh workshop... I am still speechless coming out from this profound and intense experience. Also it was a great pleasure to meet a wonderful group of people from all over France and abroad, who sincerely dedicated their time to this workshop from beginning to end and went through this indescribable journey together. Un très gros merci à LOJIQ pour leur appuie et encouragement !!!

Summer 2011

It was a journey full of joy, stimulation, love, and many discoveries!
Thanks to my family and friends who took time from their busy schedules to see me while I was in Japan :-)

家族に、友人に、
中学時代毎日一緒に過ごした懐かしの人に、
仕事仲間というには濃すぎる時を過ごした人に、
会えるのをずっと楽しみにしていた人に、会えました。
これから育ててゆきたい大切な出会いもありました。
割と平気なつもりで、実は自分の中で交錯する東京、モントリオール、これからへの想いをなんとか明るみに出そうともがく自分にも会いました。

喜びと刺激と発見と愛のつまった帰国でした。

さて、日々精進、これからもよろしくお願い致します。

A word about recent events

In light of recent events in Japan, it is impossible not to wonder about creating art when so many people have lost loved ones, and while so many people are still trying to survive the days since the disaster without food, water, or shelter... Our hearts and prayers go out to all those who are courageously coming together to help each other in these difficult times. On behalf of everyone involved in the show tonight, please send positive energy with me in the hopes that all those who need help will receive it soon, and that those who are missing will be found safe.

- still the same

To become DANCE itself.
It is a history of my own that is able to follow from the body,
and that leads to memories of human beings, history of universe and future.
Different lives pass through my body,
they live in every breath,
passing through one after another.
They don't remain.
Because it happens in DANCE,
It becomes experiences,
they bring a joy to share and discover together.


踊りそのものになる
体からたどってゆける　私自身の歴史であり
そこからつながる人類の記憶
一瞬一瞬に生き死んでゆく
色んな人生がいくつも私の体を通り過ぎる
迎え入れ送り出す
それはとどまらない
ほかのなんでもない”踊り”のなかで
それが起こるから
それは体験となって皆と共有し
さらに発見してゆける喜びがある

沙羅

My mom sent me another photo, a flower of Sal tree.
母、いつもありがとう！！

沙羅といえば、かの有名な平家物語の冒頭の、

祇園精舎の鐘の声　　　

諸行無常の響きあり　　　

沙羅双樹の花の色　　　

盛者必衰の理をあらわす

こういうのって以外と忘れないものなんだね...
実際に（写真だけど）見たの初めてだと思う。

朝に咲き夜には散ってしまう故に儚さのイメージがあるとされているけれど。

最近読んだ斎藤孝著の本に少し書いてあった、平家物語は実は生き生きとした肉体の文学なのだと。また読みたい本たまってきたなぁ。村上春樹著の新しい長編小説も出たって聞いたし。

さて。It's the last day of the shooting for the film, Legend of Atsuko tomorrow, well, today already..
