It was a journey full of joy, stimulation, love, and many discoveries!
Thanks to my family and friends who took time from their busy schedules to see me while I was in Japan :-)

家族に、友人に、
中学時代毎日一緒に過ごした懐かしの人に、
仕事仲間というには濃すぎる時を過ごした人に、
会えるのをずっと楽しみにしていた人に、会えました。
これから育ててゆきたい大切な出会いもありました。
割と平気なつもりで、実は自分の中で交錯する東京、モントリオール、これからへの想いをなんとか明るみに出そうともがく自分にも会いました。

喜びと刺激と発見と愛のつまった帰国でした。

さて、日々精進、これからもよろしくお願い致します。

It was a great pleasure to work on this show again with Patrick, Ben, Kaoru, Dino, and David-Alexandre.
The photos below were taken on the last day of the tour, at the Dunrobin Sonic Gym. Johannes, the owner of the place, had an amazing collection of gongs, and it was a special venue for the final performance of this tour. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to the show!! I hope we will have more opportunities to do this show again in the future :-)

In light of recent events in Japan, it is impossible not to wonder about creating art when so many people have lost loved ones, and while so many people are still trying to survive the days since the disaster without food, water, or shelter... Our hearts and prayers go out to all those who are courageously coming together to help each other in these difficult times. On behalf of everyone involved in the show tonight, please send positive energy with me in the hopes that all those who need help will receive it soon, and that those who are missing will be found safe.

"Threshold" residency at the MAI

I have just finished a two week residency for my new dance creation, "Threshold", which I have been working on for most of this year.

I am very excited about this 50 minutes piece, which will have its premiere in March 2011 at the MAI.

Dynamo Coléoptera show went so well, I enjoyed so much listening from back stage all new layers a new collaborator Vincent added to the band sound(which I have always loved)- and of course to perform together on stage the new fun song(revised from old band repertory.)

After performing with Dynamo Coléoptera at 16h on Nov14, I will be performing a short solo in KOMODO's set-

Cinq très bonnes raisons pour venir au prochain Komodo Dubs à la [SAT] le samedi 14 novembre :

1. SUKH KNIGHT, producteur de dubstep et DJ prodige de Londres (il a seulement 19 ans !), il est déjà une force majeur de la scène internationale du dubstep. Check les liens (ci-bas) pour écouter ses tounes embrasées.

2. KARL HAZE est l'un des producteurs et DJs de jungle / drum&bass / breakbeat les plus respectés de l'est du Canada. Impeccable derrière les tables tournantes, et avec des sorties sur Shift Music, Function Records et Underground Soundz, Karl Haze nous promet un set à ne pas manquer !

3. KOMODO, qui prépare toujours quelques surprises pour ses prestations, aura le plaisir de présenter sa nouvelle collaboration avec DJG, qui a été joué pour la première fois tout récemment à l'émission de Mary Anne Hobbs sur le BBC Radio1. Pour un avant-goût, cette pièce jouera pour la première fois au Canada sur l'émission de Claude Rajotte samedi soir à 23h!! (Espace Musique, Radio-Canada)

4. L'inimitable SHARIVARI va mettre des flammes sur la piste de danse avec les plus récentes sorties de UK Funky et de dubstep, et DJ INYOURFACE nous présentera ses compositions flambant neufs *avec* une vocaliste en direct -- c'est trop hot !! Faut être là tôt pour ne pas rater ça !

5. DJ HOSTA, la moitié de Komodo Dubs folle, sinistre et pleine de haine de soi-même, sait bien qui si tu es toujours en train de lire ceci, qu'il va te faire danser sur des tounes meulades pendant son set du 14 novembre. Yeah! :-)

母、いつもありがとう！！

沙羅といえば、かの有名な平家物語の冒頭の、

祇園精舎の鐘の声　　　

諸行無常の響きあり　　　

沙羅双樹の花の色　　　

盛者必衰の理をあらわす

実際に（写真だけど）見たの初めてだと思う。

朝に咲き夜には散ってしまう故に儚さのImageがあるとされているけれど、

最近読んだ斎藤孝著の本に少し書いてあった、平家物語は実は生き生きとした肉体の文学なのだと。また読みたい本たまってきたなぁ。村上春樹著の新しい長編小説も出たって聞いたし。

さて。it's the last day of the shooting for the film Atsuko tomorrow, well, today already..

Le Manège de l’utérus hanté est une oeuvre chorégraphique qui allie danse, théâtre, performancesmusicales et installations. La pièce explore le phénomène du « rebirth » et s’inspired’une pratique bouddhiste japonaise appelée « Tainai-Meguri ». Cette pratique propose departir à la redécouverte de soi dans les profondeurs noires et silencieuses d’un temple enprocurant le sentiment de vivre une seconde naissance à l’intérieur de l’utérus maternel.

A dance work integrating theatrical aspects, live music and installations. The workexplores the phenomenon of rebirth, based on a Buddist training called “Tainai-Meguri”in Japan, by which we are brought to experiment a new birth, rediscovering senses by walking through a cave in complete darkness and silence, as if we go back into the womb of our mother.

I was cast as Atsuko, A short film directed by Igor Simonnet.

So I am in Wushu training for the film, Aikido session will start soon too,
oh, I am loving this Wushu training!

The actual fight choreography will be so great and intense!

I am looking forward to working with the team of this production, and with Akina who is co-starring in this film.

I will post more details as it goes along, mmmh-I am gaining more muscle, haha... 笑。

On y découvre les sources d'inspiration de l’artiste, les différentes étapes de sa création et toutes les images fortes qui l'obsèdent, au point où elles deviennent les prémisses de ses différents projets.

Despite of several technical difficulties during our performance, it was still a great opportunity to perform within the festival, at the Tangente. With sold out crowds, wow!

Big Thanks for Jody who came to do our tech time, and rent us the sexy looking microphone. And Josh, ありがとうso much for light design and everything, everything!

Between the tech time and the show call, Maya took me to Grande Bibliothèque on Maisonneuve, I couldn't believe that I never used this wonderful place, it' so new, big and so much resources and activities...
there were a lot of people, well, it was Saturday, maybe I will try one day in morning. hoping to get used to the environment in French, I need to get lid of this fear..

St-flying kidney presents the excerpt from ¨Haunted womb tour¨, a full length dance based show with theatrical aspects, live music and installation art that tells a story of re-born, which will be presented at Tangente within Festival accès asie in May 2009.

The main concept is base on a Buddhist training called "Tainai-Maguri" in Japan, rediscovering senses and experiencing a new birth by walking through a cave in compete darkness and silece as if going back to the interior womb of the mother.

The world we have thrust ourselves into forces us to keep our eyes wide open, relating the sights and sounds of this new world to mother Japan, which still breathes like a marathon runner within us.

Work in progress of the show was premiered in 2007 at Montreal fringe festival and received an award from Tangente.

You will be treated to a vast showcase of local talent – each performance is between 15 and 25 minutes in length, spanning many eclectic musical realms, such as avant-garde folk, minimalist jazz, electro-accoustics, R&B, psychedelic electronica, and Japanese fantasy rock!
Come for the first couple of hours and experience the wild theatrical bliss of the first section of acts, or stay the whole night and be treated to a wide array of auditory and visual delights!
